call for support to finance the remaining desks for Ladakh Rigjung Public

Thank you
for your kind support.
Liebe Freunde,
Unsere Schule …strahlend gelb
Jedes Jahr kommen neue
Schulmanagerin Miss Yangchen La kostet
Herzlichen Dank.

School Desk Activity
Dear friends,
Our school…recently painted is shining brightly
in a sunny yellow with the clear blue sky of the mountains…looks like new. Last
year all buildings were painted from outside but inside you can see how old the
school already is: most of the school desks are old and unstable. Some of the
classrooms even don´t have any desks and the children sitting on the floor which
is part of the culture: to sit on the floor. Anyhow we like to fulfil the wish
of the school administration to get 200 school desks sponsored so that in all
classrooms school desks can be used.
The school has a number of new students,
increasing every year; therefore even the old desks are not enough.
This call for support is addressed to everyone
who likes to help maybe in this season with a special gift like “a school desk for Ladakh” and schools or
associations who like to give support in a group activity for financing school
desks for Ladakh.
After consulting Ms Yangchen La , school
manager she confirmed that
one desks ( for two students) costs 24 EURO.
Any amount of donation is welcome… just to
transfer the amount mentioning “school desks for Ladakh” into the mentioned
bank account (find attached).
If you have any questions about this activity
please contact here: kamdoe @gmail.com, also if you need a donation receipt.
This “school desk activity” already started
with the funding of two desks and we hope to get the remaining 198 desks
sponsored with your kind support.
Best wishes.

Liebe Freunde,

a contribution of 50 rupees (INR) only. You can use my AXIS Bank account to
transfer the money.

Deutsche Schule zeigt Initiative, Schule in Indien zu unterstützen
Jedes
SCHOOL in Ladakh.
Fotos:

German school supports school in India in a creative way
Every year students from the 7th grade of the school Große Stadtschule, Geschwister Scholl Gymnasium in Wismar, Germany are becoming active during the “Social Day” to support a school in far away India.
That education for children like in Germany is not self-evident to other children in the world, gave the students a great motivation to become active…
They showed great creativity while painting posters to inform about the school in India, selling self backed cakes, herbs from the school garden and self-made pottery on the market square in Wismar. While making music and singing songs they enlightening the day of passersby on the market square in Wismar, a pretty small town next to the Baltic Sea in Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Germany. That annual event seems to become a tradition. An old Lady is commenting: “Every year during the “Social day” the students are making delicious cakes and selling it.” Another Man said: “It is a great idea! We like to give support!”
The financial income of this day benefits different social projects, like the school project RIGJUNG PUBLIC SCHOOL in Ladakh.

Last summer some of the students of Ladakh Rigjung Public School participated in a photo workshop. They learned basics of photography.
August 2013: Photographer Dörte Kamarid taught some of the students of Ladakh Rigjung Public School about how to take photographs. The students were introduced to the technical details of the cameras and the art of light.
In small groups students dicussed about different ways of capturing and made a presentation about their school and the life in the hostel.
Here is the result: students like to present their school and hostel life.
Here are some impressions from the photoclass.
Students were very active in making a documentation of the annual celebration of the Teachersday. They took photographs and small movies and captured a very colourful programme of different speeches of the students as well as modern dances, Ladakhi songs and dances, Hindi, Nepali Dances etc. Games and Fun for Teachers and students on this joyful day.
Many secondhand cameras were donated by sponsors from Europe. Thank you all for giving support in any way. The photographs taken by the children are now visible in the new calender 2014. They show the life of the students and Ladakhi culture.
The benefit of the calender 2014 goes to the Rigjung Public School in Ladakh.

Yulley from Ladakh;)
Was noch?

Calling for Help: Photoproject in Ladakh
The idea:
The cooperation of Rigjung Public School in Ladakh with schools in Europe has been running for several years with a regular support by for example a German school 'Geschwister Scholl Gymnasium' in Wismar who are active in their support with projects such as the implementation of the "Social Day" given annually.
To further create an active cultural exchange, communication between children in Ladakh and Europe is necessary, because only through exchange they can learn from each other and their very different cultures.
In the summer of 2013, a photo project with the children of Rigjung Public School is planned. For this we need your support!
How?
We are looking for digital cameras that can be used as an equipment which will taken to Ladakh. The idea is to use cameras which are secondhand and might be already dusty because the owner is not using them anymore but just on the way to be come meaningful for a good purpose! Resolution etc. doesn´t matter- only the cameras should work.
Why?
The photo project is about bringing the children closer to photography: how to handle technical equipment, experimenting with artistic approaches in learning engineering principles and image composition, lighting gear, etc. What do I see ?... and what I want to show to others...? as an approach to exchange cultures.
The aim of this workshop is to put together a photo collage that is exchanged with the students in Germany. Things which can be shown are that of the importance for the children, what they want to show their partner school in Germany. Whether it's dinner with the family or playing cards in rounds in the hostel. In this case I'm not taking the photos, as usual for the documentation of the project, but the children will do and they will decide what they want to show to the students in Germany.
The other way around a presentation of the 7th Classes at 'Geschwister Scholl Gymnasium' in Wismar is already proceeding. Students are working on representing the school life and their culture of Germany while taking photographs for the students in Ladakh. This presentation will then be shown to children in Ladakh.
What else?
While working in groups, the children can learn to independently carry out a project. With instructional ideas and technical support they get a chance to make something of their own to be "on their feet". This autonomy and group skills are promoted.
